Community Infrastructure

The City works hard to provide the well maintained roads, paths, parks and reserves you see when you travel about our City. Of course there are other systems that you rarely get to see, such as drainage systems and traffic management systems, in place to make traveling in the City a safer experience.

All this is coordinated and conducted by the people in our Infrastructure Services Department. Street lighting, verges and crossovers, road sweeping, park mowing, street trees and pathways are just a few of the things that we are involved with to make our City a great place to live and work.

Infrastructure Maintenance

Our staff members report any road maintenance issues they may come across, however we also encourage you to contact the City if you have any concerns. The major issues we look out for and would like to have reported are:

  • Potholes and other road repairs
  • Street tree maintenance
  • Street name signs (missing/damaged)
  • Blocked stormwater drains or flooding
  • Damaged kerbs
  • Pathway repairs
  • Damaged bus shelters
  • Faulty lighting on Foreshore/reserves (i.e. parks, sporting grounds)
  • Playground equipment (missing/damaged)

To report Infrastructure Maintenance issues, visit City’s Infrastructure Services Department between 8:30am and 5:00pm at the Geraldton Civic Centre on Cathedral Avenue, contact us on 9956 6600 or alternatively email the City.
