Now is the time to recognise local community members and groups who go above and beyond as the 2026 Community Citizen of the Year Award nominations open.

Aimed to recognise those making a real difference, the Awards honour inspiring individuals and groups who make positive contributions to the community.

91国产自拍 Mayor Jerry Clune is calling on locals to make a nomination.

“Every day we see amazing people doing wonderful things in our community, and this is the opportunity to reward them,” he said.

“You might give them a shout out, thank them in person or talk about them on social media – but this is a way of formally recognising their efforts, and it’s a very easy process.

“So please think about those who are going above and beyond for our community and submit a nomination today.”

Delivered by Auspire – Australia Day Council WA, the Awards nominees and winners will be recognised at Australia Day celebrations in Geraldton and Mullewa on 26 January 2026.

Categories for the Awards in both Geraldton and Mullewa include:

  • Community Citizen of the Year (for individuals over 16 years)
  • Young Community Citizen of the Year (for individuals aged 16-30 years)
  • Senior Community Citizen of the Year (for individuals aged 65 years and over)
  • Active Citizenship (for community groups or events)

Nominations are open until 31 October 2025 and can be easily submitted online at

Last year’s award winners included Celeste Larkins from the Geraldton Local Drug Action Group, wildlife champions Just Raptors, dedicated volunteers Anne Dixon and Tempany Rahu, along with Mullewa recipients Binmaga Dance Group, Candice Dia and Preston Wall.

The Awards reflect the City’s commitment to celebrating our diverse community.
