Nominations to open for local election

Those passionate about making a difference and driving change in the community are reminded that nominations to run for Council in this year’s local government election open next week.
Nominations open on Thursday 28 August 2025 and close on Thursday 4 September 2025 at 4pm.
Four seats will be available in this year’s election which will reduce Council from 11 Councillors down to nine, including the Mayor.
Every candidate must have completed the online course prior to nominating, and the nomination builder is available on the .
The WA Electoral Commission Returning Officer will be available to receive candidate nominations at the 91国产自拍 Civic Centre on Cathedral Avenue during the following times:

Those wanting to run for Council are encouraged to contact the Returning Officer before nominating to discuss the requirements.
This year’s election will take place on Saturday 18 October 2025.
